So much has happened I am not sure where to start. School is in full swing BUT they have been out all of this week due to a wind storm over the weekend that knocked our power out. We were without power for about 4 days. Much of the city is still without power. Lori and I had mixed feelings when it came back on. It was nice to read by candle light and play games by an outdoor fire. Sure we could do it anytime but there was something colonialish about our lives for a short time and it was enjoyable. We lost a ton of food. Neighbors were out and people were socializing more since there were no tvs, computers or phones. The weather has been beautiful so if we are going to be without electricity I am glad it was this week. I would not be as excited about our colonial period if it was 100 degrees outside.
All the kids have great teachers this year. I am so thankful for that after Kennedy's teacher from hell last year. The kids are having a really good school year.
I love having four kids. It is the perfect family for us. In some ways it is easier than two. The girls play together nicely. The boys play together nicely. The four of them play together well although the most problems arise when they are attempting to play together. They miss each other and ask for each other when they are away. Ben struggles when everyone is at school all day.
Kuker started soccer this fall. He is like a puppy with a bone. He will not stay away from the ball. If the referee is trying to give it to another player they have to redirect Kuker otherwise he will take it. He takes it from his own teammates. He takes it from the referees. He takes it from his coach. He is very focused on the ball. He scores alot. Sometimes it is even in the right goal.
Gormah is taking dance. She was lured into it by the fancy clothes but it is not active enough for her. She is wishing she had picked soccer.
Kennedy is sticking with piano and she is becoming pretty good. Ben is holding out for baseball in the spring. We allowed each kid to pick one activity and it is too much. We are going to have to work things differently next year. We hate having something to do every night. We feel like the kids do not have enough down time to just play.
Gormah had her surgery on 8-29-08 and she did great. She was up, eating and playing by that night. Her surgery took about two and a half hours.
That is pretty much our lives right now. We have settled into the school routine. It is a much busier routine with four kids but it feels right.

Sounds like you have all settled into the perfect family unit as it should be.
