Poop and Boogers

Today was the first day with no school. I was excited and had many options for today. I had visions of sprinklers, bike rides to the park, water guns and lots of time outside. School was out and summer is in. Summer was in in theory. Reality was 58 degrees, cloudy and rainy. I was grumpy. The kids fought all day long. I was dreading summer and it was only the first day. I was mad because I always look forward to the summer with the kids and this one started out badly. We were stuck inside and I was digging through winter clothes trying to find sweats for the kids to wear. In the midst of my foul mood, the dog poops in the basement and the kids are cracking up and running downstairs to look at it. You know your day is bad when the highlight is the dog pooping on the floor.
The last couple of days have been rough. I have neglected work to attend all the end of school activities. As a result, I have had to work in the evenings. I took the kids to McDonalds in order for them to play in the play land area while I attempted to work. Ben thinks he is cool when he says words like butt and booger. He gets a big reaction from Kuker and that makes him say those words repeatedly so he can gain boy approval. At McDonalds, in an attempt to be cool with other boys, he saunters over to a group of 7/8 year old boys and says "I eat my boogers". The boys look at him and say "Eww gross!" and run away from him. Ben was shocked they did not instantly bring him into their fold. He changes his tune and runs after them screaming throughout McDonalds "I do not eat my boogers! I don't!". I buried my head behind my computer screen, hoped no one saw me enter with him and waited for Lori to get there so she could claim him.
Between the poop and boogers, tomorrow has to be better.

If Ben said that in front of my three he would get roaring laughs. It's almost as funny as the word fart.
