Thanks President Bush! What? Yes, the democratic, President Bush hating lesbians are thanking you for our stimulus checks. We cashed 'em and headed to Seagrove, Florida. We needed a vacation after this year and good 'ol George made it happen for us.
We packed up the minivan and headed south. The kids were awesome driving there and back. It was a great vacation. Ben was the most skeptical of the water. The picture at the top of this post is about the most he would venture into it. He would put on his life jacket and goggles and play in the sand most of the time. He looked really silly. Kennedy and Gormah were shell fanatics. They spent 99% if of their time scouring the beach for shells. Seagrove does not have a lot of shells but they made some good finds. Kuker loved the water. He ran and splashed and tried to convince his brother to join him. He went solo most of the time.
One of the best things for the kids was they each had a tv in their room. They thought they had died and gone to heaven. The boys would fall asleep to Nascar racing (woohoo) and the girls watched Disney or cartoons every chance they had. They were loving vacation.
The girls had a mini apartment upstairs to themselves. They had a king size bed and their own bathroom and private balcony. We hardly saw them. They would disappear at night to watch tv, write stories and color. Sometimes we would hear them on the balcony talking about seven year old girl stuff. Their favorite topic of conversation was passing gas. If I hear one more song about passing gas I will lose it.
The days were filled with swimming. We played on the beach or in the pool the entire time. It was so nice to see the kids running and playing in the surf. Maybe they were running from each other and "playing" might have been more like drowning one another but over the roar of the ocean we could imagine anything.
In all seriousness, the kids are doing well. The greatest part about having four kids is seeing the bond between them form. Knowing that they will always have each other to commiserate with, remember with and grow with. It is one of our greatest joys.
We have some great pictures. I plan to bore you all with as many as I can post but there are problems with getting them on the blog right now so be warned that they are coming.
Gormah informed us today that when she gets older she is going to adopt a child. We told her that would be great. She then said she would adopt from Africa, China or Texas. At least she has options.
On vacation we were mulling over dinner options and if it is not chicken and rice or pizza the kids try to veto it. I mentioned grabbing some barbeque. Gormah says "Ewww! I do not like barbeque". I tell her she has never had barbeque. Her response was "Well, I like Barbie...just not the "Q"". I swear that girl can make us laugh and cry more than anyone else we have ever encountered.
