Christmas Post #2

I forgot to mention this stroke of genius on my original post so I thought it warranted an addendum. The kids never fail to sleep in on weekdays and wake up early on the weekends. Drives me crazy. We offer rewards and incentives for whoever sleeps the latest on the weekends. We have given candy at 8:00 in the morning, money...all rules are off for sleeping late. We sing special songs for whoever is the last to emerge from their room. I can handle anything after 7:00. It is the 6:00 hour that makes me cringe.
So Christmas morning I knew (based on previous Christmas mornings as a parent as well as the karma I knew was coming my way from when I was a kid) that we would be up at the crack of dawn. I could not bring myself to get up at 5:30 or 6:00 on Christmas morning after waiting for the kids to go to bed and all the work that takes place after they are asleep.
As we are putting them to bed I had what I consider to be an Einstein idea. I set the girl's clock back one hour. They emerged at 6:15 and it was really 7:15. I needed that hour and if I am happy their holiday is going to merrier. It was a win-win situation.

Lying on Christmas eve can send you to the bad place.
