They have made real progress. It is like someone turned on a switch or maybe they purged those first weeks home. I am not sure what happened but things have improved. They still have fits but they are not as frequent, are not as long and are much more controlled than the first weeks.
Ben and Kuker bonded easily and continue to be really good for one another. Gormah and Kennedy hated each other up until yesterday. Now they are constant companions and are sleeping together. At one point they refused to share bunk beds. One of them would sleep on the floor rather than be below or above the other. They are now giggling together in the twin top bunk. I have no idea what happened but am so thankful.
Gormah has a strength and gracefulness about her I am envious of. She runs and jumps like a professional athlete. Kennedy...well...not so much. Today we were at a pond and the kids were running along the water on a rock that was slightly above the waters surface. Kennedy started to fall and Gormah grabbed her shirt and jerked her back on the rock. 48 hours ago she would have been pushing Kennedy in and vice versa. They have come far.
The kids are affectionate. Gormah wants to be close and often initiates hugs and kisses. Kuker likes to hug you in a way that wrestles you to the floor. It is pure boy love and it melts my heart. Ben does the same thing. If they want affection they will run into you or grab you and pull you down. We immediately say "Oh, you want some attention" and kiss and hug them to death. They laugh and totally love it.
The way they laugh alone makes us fall in love with them. They have great laughs.
This is our spring break and it could not have come at a better time. The weather has been incredible and we have all been together. We have spent so much time outdoors. It has been good for all of us to run and play together. It is exactly what we needed.
The misery is gone. I am not so naive to think we are out of the woods but we are beginning to piece our life back together and it is looking good. We will see what the next seven days brings.

Shelby,
I'm so glad that things are working so well! I love the story about Gormah pulling Kennedy back on the rock. I think my girls alternate many times a day as to which role they would choose! Take care!

I soooo remember a day when a little twerp I knew would have pushed Diana in the creek, then saved the fish on the that splashed out ...before helping her sister.
:) Glad things are happy this week.
YES! The sun is finally shining. I am so happy for you.

I can see clearly now, the rain is gone...that song is fitting right now! So happy that "mellow mode" has kicked in.
Hugs,
