Dating

There are times where Lori and I do not speak a complete sentence to one another until 9:00 at night. A moment came over the weekend that I am so thankful for so I wanted to share it. Lori had made dinner and the kids were playing downstairs. They were playing very nicely together so when dinner was ready we were not that excited about bringing them upstairs to eat. It is hard to disrupt them when they are playing well together. Dinners are very chaotic and neither of us was sure we were ready to break the peace to enter chaos.
Lori said let's eat without them and then bring them up. This was the most wonderful idea I had heard since I cannot remember when. Lori and I sat and ate peacefully. We did not get up thirty times to refill plates and milks. We did not remind one another to use our manners and we did not talk over each other. We actually had a conversation. It was pure bliss. Then we decided to bring the kids up and feed them. Back to reality.

People keep saying to "follow your bliss" Who knew that meant that you were able to finish a sentence. I am still waiting to use the bathroom without a knock on the door.
