Pooping

Potty training Ben has been really low on our priority list. His teacher did a whole potty unit in January. He was not interested. To be honest, we did not really care if was potty trained. He is our baby. He did not have the pressure of potty training that Kennedy endured. We knew he would not go off to college in diapers so we were not stressed to give up the convenience of diapers. I do not like hanging out in public restrooms. I do not like going to the potty in every gas station, target and restuarant. I love diapers.

Ben was definitely not interested in potty training...until Kuker. Ben wants to do everything like Kuker. That includes wearing cool underwear and peeing while standing. Since Kuker has been home, Ben has been potty trained.

Initially he would not poop in the potty. He would hold it or poop in his underwear. My lack of commitment to the whole potty thing made me ready to put him back in diapers. His teacher bribed him with chocolate. Pooping in the potty...check. Our boy will put out for some chocolate.

School is over and so is his chocolate connection. I was ready to end the whole chocolate reward thing because he has the concept down now. But we ( Lori) have continued it at home.

The chocolate reward did not go unnoticed by Kuker. Kuker will emerge from the bathroom and proudly announce he has pooped. We (Lori) have been giving him chocolate as well.

Kuker mentions that when he was in Africa he never had to wash his hands after he pooped. He also says very matter of factly that he never got chocolate for pooping when he was in Africa. The concept was very foreign to him but who is he to argue when there is candy to be had. So he has rolled with it. He is a trooper.

What does all this mean? It means the boys poop more in one day than they did in the weeks before chocolate (b.c.). It means that if one boy poops and the other doesn't be prepared for a candyjacking. It means an all out pooping competition for who can consume the most chocolate in one day. Pooping is not an Olympic event but if it were our boys would bring home the gold...then hawk it for a Hershey bar.

Thank you for the laugh! I hope that everything else is going well for you - if not, just take the boys' advice and eat more chocolate!

Don't you think this is all a little "crappy?"
