Yesterday turned out to be a good day! Our computer problems were fixed and I am once again connected with muaa. Yesterday was Friday, which is always a good day in our house. We also got our van back after I wrecked it a month ago. It was not a funny story initially but enough time has passed to where I can see the humor in it. It is also interesting to note the two very different reactions from Kennedy and Ben.
One month ago I was taking Kennedy and Ben to school. I have no idea what I was doing but I was zoned out. I was not on the phone or messing with the radio it was just a general autopilot drive. I ran a red light and got hit by an oncoming car. I have never been so scared in my life. The contact was right were Kennedy was sitting. We were hit hard and the entire passenger side of our van, including the front axel and wheels, had to be replaced. Our van was $500 away from being totaled. I am so grateful the children were not hurt. Everyone, including the driver of the other car, was fine. There has not been a day go by that I am not thankful for that. So thankful.
I am crying. Kennedy is crying and scared to death. Kennedy is hysterical. The firemen did a great job of helping her because I was hysterical too. Not my proudest mom moment. Where is the humor you ask? Ben in all his two year old seriousness asks " Are we a race car?". Through tears I tell him "No. We just crashed like one". He repeats through the entire incident "we crashed like a race car". He was thrilled. Then the police, wreckers, ambulance and fire trucks show up and Ben's excitement grows. With every emergency vehicle that arrives Ben keeps saying "thank you mom...thank you". This really could have been his birthday party. He thought I ordered all these vehicles for his entertainment. Throw in a cake and some friends and we would have been set.
Later that day Kennedy states "Well at least G and K weren't here". There is a bright side to a screwed up adoption.
All is well now. Everyone is safe. The van is good as new. My computer is fixed.

I'm so glad no one was hurt! Your stories always make my day. I love that a two year old can see the bright side of things when no one else can.
Stay alive, please!- Laura
